10 Months
Miss G is 10 months old.....where did the time go? I am so sad that her first year of life has gone by in a blur of frustration and business trying to do all this by myself. It makes me sad I didnt' get to enjoy her first year more and just sit and play with her. It was tough to chase a 2 year old and give her the attention she deserved. Daddy has missed so much too and that makes me sad as well. We just try and do our best I suppose and pray for the best and the wisdom and strength to do it right. When daddy gets home she will get the attention she deserves and so will LM. It's so funny how different they are when someone else is around.....both much more happy b/c they don't feel like they have to act out to get attention from the other. I look forward to harmony in my house again......somewhat :) She is crawling so well and loves exploring.....still only two teeth on the bottom. She barks at the dogs just like LM did when they bark and points to them. She gives a shy head tilt to Mr. Aaron and other men. She is just a sweet but active baby and I want to eat her up when she laughs which isn't often b/c she prefers the daddy brow furrow when she is checking something out and then bursts into a laugh sometimes. Oh, I love her so much ....I hope the next year doesn't go so fast so I can enjoy her and play with her more.

How much more bizarre can my life get??
So at 2 am BT needs to go out.....I go into the kitchen which seems lit up like a Christmas tree and is rather unusual to see all these flashing lights coming in the blinds. Look out--WHOA--about 10 or so police units with spotlights , K-9 dogs, on foot combing the area behind my house. So we quickly decide no one is goign to pee and I call security who in turn tells me to remain inside my home with doors locked and dogs are on pee pee lockdown....okay , he didn't say that but that's what he meant. Nearly two hours later still on lockdown. And finally this am we were able to venture out . Turns out some idiot hijacked/carjacked a car in OH of all places, if you don't know where i live .....look it up on the internet. Not exactly the capital of carjackings or violent crime at all really. And the idiot drove it on to the military base right up into housing and took off on foot apparently. Also this last week two guys held up our Walgreen's --you know the economy is bad when our little town is getting hit up like this. A little scary and my mama lion instincts kicked in to protect my cubs...so I have plans and backup plans mapped out in my head in each scenario that could possibly ever happen and we pray every night for safety. Oh, how soundly I will sleep when my knight in shining armour finally gets here.....and poor beau beau will too. he sleeps for days when daddy gets home b/c he has been so vigilant looking out for us for all this time.....no wonder the old boy is looking his age.

Let me rephrase......
I thought I should rephrase my earlier post about snapping....not that I am snapping at my children although there have been days I have bitten their little heads off....I meant that this phase is killing me--the not sharing--and how fast can I snap meaning let's just see how much longer I can take this.....my guess is not long....I swear I have aged ten years in the past year...many more wrinkles and gray hairs and the permanent state of tired isn't helping. Do you think my body is trying to tell me something since I have had about 8 outbreaks of shingles in the past year....or more maybe.....I lost count. So, no I am not about to snap in the sense of falling apart....so not to worry....I am trudging on and counting the days til the backup arrives. He has no idea what he's in store for!! Poor guy!!

Our little musical baby....
When Miss G gets a break away from us ....as in she is free of hands , pack n play and no brother holding her back the first place she looks is LM's room. If that door is open she is like speed racer coming into the last lap......see ya! And what does she go for? She knows exactly where our little box of musical instruments is....under his dresser and has become quite proficient at pulling it out and giving the xylophone a try, then the maracas, the triangle, cymbals and so on. And she does it right!!! She knows what she is doing and nothing makes her happier than her brother joining us and doing a duet with his harmonica.....so , so sweet. She just laughs and grins at him and has taken to clapping at him when he serenades her and tonight she just grabbed the tambourine and played right along with him.....gotta get a video of that.....I promise it's coming. In the meantime here's a few newer pics and a few of my awesome birthday dinner with the girls....thanks ladies--had a blast!!

Oh, how fast can I snap???
Miss G is into all LM's stuff and it's making him nuts and me too. This gentle boy who used to love his sister with gentle hands and sweet kisses is now pushing, shoving, screaming at and trying to maul his sister. Granted she only wants his things....no interest so far in anything remotely girly, frilly or even babyish. She usually just wants his toys and him really. Wants to be with him all the time....and he is not into sharing. I spend my WHOLE day and I mean the WHOLE day refereeing between the two because when he does take something from her she screams at dog pitch. It's wearing me down. Nothing works, taking his toys away, time out, spanking, priveleges taken away.....nothing. AHHHH, will he ever start sharing??
He does however get a kick out of her standing at her little table shaking her booty back and forth dancing and says "sissy looks like Gloria dancing from Madagascar" and we have a video of it. The days are winding down for daddy's year away.....still no date of arrival but we are ready and even have a few surprises for him when he gets home.

Random notes
Miss G is insisting on using a spoon at dinnertime. It makes her much happier and she doesn't scream as much.....therefore I don't mind her throwing her food all over with a sweeping motion of the spoon
*she is also clapping when her brother plays his harmonica for her or really at anything he does
*doing signs for "mas" with a big grin on her face...and doing "all done"
Conversations w/ LM:
"Mommy, daddy is my best friend. You are Miss G's best friend."
Can I be your friend too buddy?
"No, you can be G.'s friend, Daddy will be my friend"
"mommy, do cows have pee pee's?"
Yes, they do
"what about horses"
Yes, those too....most animals have pee pee'sbut we can't always see them like on the doggies.
"yeah, they are in their bootys like sister, right Mommy?"
At this point I said "what???" and quickly tried to explain that one......man I will be glad when daddy is here to back me up.
"mommy, that is going faster, faster....fortissimo!!"
Just some random notes on what they have been doing besides trying to kill each other. She is into EVERYTHING right now and it's making him and me crazy. She is so much more active than LM was but still a good baby minus the screaming at such high pitches and throwing herself backwards onto the floor when she wants her way. AHH, the fun to come ;)

We've hit a new "LOW, low, low, low ,low......"
Yes, I have hit a new low. I have now said crap among other things in front of my son. I have broken down and let him have suckers, sugary things and other types of poisonous junk that otherwise I wouldn't let him put in his body......and I have let him jam out at home to T-Pain and Flo-rida (this latest "low" was not due to my wonderful childrearing but his memory of the V day dance and at his request) He asked for low, low , low so I played it for him and he started to dance and I couldn't resist getting a video. There are some more of Miss G crawling and eating too but we did have a blast today going to Burlington with friends and came home to dance the evening away singing into our "microphones" (aka whisks) to some of our favorite tunes and as we danced around the living room to Bedrich Smetana and the Zac Brown Band (like that combo??) Miss G just laughed and danced along with us. I love evenings like this --if I could just get them to stop screaming at such high octaves.......
I guess daddy better get home quick b/c I think this year is starting to wear on me....who knows what new "low" we'll hit next.
I did catch LM showing G a talking picture frame today of Daddy and he said to her "look G , this is daddy, he will come home soon ....and we will get to have a Madagascar birthday party"
THen he got Daddy Doll and made him talk to G and said "look, here's daddy doll too". So sweet....and then in the next minute he was trying to shoulder check her while she was crawling.......ahhh , sibling rivalry :)

CRAP Dos
Miss G had her 9 month well baby visit today. She checked out well weighing in at 18 lbs and 29 inches long. She is growing just fine, and even decided to leave a little surprise in the dr. office.
As the corpsman and I moved her from baby scale to table she was naked and I had her suspended in air sort of infront of me and not sure why really....but grabbing another diaper from the bag (all in about 5 seconds) I feel something hit my leg and foot. She has dropped a big one right in the exam room while suspended in air........hallelujah I didn't have her propped on my hip , right? What mess that would have been. And oh, it gets better. The poor corpsman had to pick up my baby's poop with gloves and a biohazard bag.....(is baby poop really a biohazard--wait I have seen some of those diapers--it's quite possible). And all the while this stone faced corpsman is saying it's okay mam as I apologize and when LM peers through my legs to see the poop he says and I kid you not "did she crap on the floor?" (again let me emphasize I am fully aware that my slip up the other day caused this unfortunate use of the word)
Mommy says: "son, remember we don't use that word"
LM: "Mommy, it's okay I say crap.....I can say whatever I want to" (a phrase I have used w/ Miss G inreference to her being able to play w/ what she wants to , look at what she wants to, etc. b/c he seems to think she shouldn't breathe in our same universe lately) ! So again that backfired on me and he keeps saying the word and finally I hear the corpsman snickering b/c he couldn't hold it in any longer which in turn made me start laughing while trying not to look at LM. So that was our morning funny.....what will this afternoon bring?

CRAP.....literally
Setting the scene: After baths hanging out in LM's room both in towels waiting to get dressed. Mommy starts dressing LM....and hears a familiar grunting coming from Miss G and before I knew it I said : "G please don't crap right now" as I am pulling up LM's pullup. LM then says :"Did you say crap?" (Now let me make it very clear I am not getting Mother of the Year but it's been a long year and sometimes stuff like that comes out at the end of the day when I am so very tired I don't even care)
Mommy: "yes, I did and it's not a nice word so we don't say that"
LM : (with mischief in his eyes looks at me and says: "CRAP, CRAP, CRAP"
And being the "fantastic" mom I am I just bust out laughing and turn my head --he begins to laugh and then looks at me and says "we don't say that word, right Mommy?"
Right buddy!
And as this is all taking place ---Miss G has taken a ---you guessed it ---poop in the middle of the floor....so we have to clean that up and get everyone dressed. It was GREAT!!!
But I will say that as I got her out of the tub tonight and put her in her hooded towel on my lap she pulled the hood over her face and started lifting it back up and down to play peek a boo. She has never done something like that before and it was adorable. She kept doing it for about two minutes and laughing. It was so cute even LM joined in our fun even though right now she can't look at him, his toys , mommy, or breathe the air he is breathing for that matter. And then other days he wants to eat her up.....but is starting to get a little rough with her and do things like try and tip her over , take toys , etc. He's just all boy and I can't wait for daddy to get home and lay the law down.. .....I am tired of being the bad guy all the time but I have to be. I'll try to get some new videos up of the little girl soon.
